When it rains it pours...

Elisa finally got better on Friday/Saturday, then Brooke got unwell Sunday night. If it's not one it's the other. She's been off school for the last two days, and we have yet another Dr's appointment this afternoon. As well as Elisa is, she still has a nasty chesty cough, so we'll get her checked out again today too. Decided to do a layout about it for a "no photo" challenge at Elemental Scraps.

I finally managed to finish my 365 page for last week too:

I got approached by another designer last week to play with her new kit Catch the Rainbow. Here is the layout I did with it - just something simple.

All these layouts are in my DST gallery if you want more details/credit info.

As for the Alvin and the Chipmunks movie that we watched the other night - it wasn't too bad. Kept us entertained for the duration. Not sure I could watch it over and over again, but it was a good choice for a family movie.

More pages

Credits HERE.

It's taken Elisa quite some time to start feeling better from whatever it is that got her sick. It started as a cold, then went away for a few days, only to come back as a sore ear that also self-resolved. After a day or two of feeling ok, she then came down with high temps, coughing, vomiting, and general unwellness (is that a word?). For the last 4 days she's been like a limp rag doll, just wanting cuddles, and trying to sleep in between the coughing fits. Today was the first time she's been able to keep food down, and her cough has reduced some, so I'm hoping this means she's on the mend.

So, while she slept today I took part in another speed scrap at Elemental Scraps. I used a combination of two kits that I won from Bella Gypsy. P.S. Yvette, can you send me a high res copy of this pic please? Thanks.

Since I have so many quick pages in my arsenal, I decided to use some of them. This is what I came up with. All I had to do was add photos, title and journalling. I don't upload these to the galleries since someone else has done all the hard work.

Tonight since it's been such a long quiet week, we're going to have family movie night. Alvin and the Chipmunks to be exact. I'll let you know what I think of it. :)

Studio Baers Garten

Over the last couple of weeks I've been playing with the new Toy Box Collection by Studio Baers Garten at Scrapbook Graphics. It was released for sale yesterday, so I can show you my layouts now. I was only supposed to be a guest for this one collection, but now Iara has invited me to stay as a permanent CT member. How cool is that! I'm pretty stoked because Iara is a great designer and I've admired her designs for a long time now. Anyway, here are my pages:

I'm still in the process of uploading these to my DST gallery, so for now you can see them in my Scrapbook Graphics gallery.

Oh, and I must've spoken too soon. Elisa spent half the night up coughing and/or being sick. I ended up sleeping in her room. So, no playcentre today. She's asleep now - lets hope she feels better when she wakes.

It's all go

We all seem to be on the mend - my cold is gone, Elisa's sore ear has disappeared, and Brooke's cough is nowhere to be found. DH is home after a week away, and the girls as usual are just over the moon about that. Yesterday we went down to Hamilton to check out to Field Days at Mystery Creek. Mum and Dad kindly babysat the girls for us so DH and I could go by ourselves. The weather thankfully held off while we were there, and we both enjoyed just wandering around at leisure. We did a ton of walking, and a little bit of shopping. It's been a while since just the two of us spent quality time together, and I LOVED it! Made me feel like a kid again.

Here's my latest 365 page:

I have some pages to upload in the next few days, but if you want a sneak peek at a couple of them, you'll have to check out Baer's Garten's Blog. I was invited to play with her new collection that gets released in the next day or so. You should be able to pick out Elisa in the top group of photos, and both the girls in the next group of photos. ("Right Now", and "On The Move").

Here are some others I've been working on. The first two are sneak peeks at two of Chrissy's kits due out tomorrow, both using templates of hers as well:

This one uses a template of Chrissy's too.

This one I did for a speed scrap this morning. Took me about 30 minutes I guess.

And I did this one of Grace using Sya's Gimme Some Space Template:

Visiting Teaching

I'm excited to be part of the Visiting Teaching programme at Church. My visiting teaching companion and I have some wonderful ladies to visit, and I really enjoy catching up with them each month and seeing them at church each week. I'm still fairly new in my ward, so this is one way to meet others and feel involved. We decided to do our visiting early in the month, and so far all is going well. My companion rings and makes appointments, and I do the handouts each month, which I love doing. I thought a good idea would be to put the message (or parts of the message) onto 6x4 cards and attach them to a bookring. Each month we would bring new inspirational cards to add to the ring. Eventually the ladies would end up with a whole stack of inspirational quotes and scriptures to reference from and be uplifted by. Beats having lots of separate loose items sitting in a draw.

This is what I made for June. I used quick pages from Kristin Cronin-Barrow's Natural Beauty Album. The cards will be glued back to back and laminated.

And here are the July ones using Zoe Pearn's Close To My Heart quick pages:

And here's a layout of what we did today. Credits in my DST gallery.

365 and other pages

I've done a handful of pages this week, but can't show them all until the kits go up for sale in the stores. However.....these ones I CAN show you.

I'll leave you with those. I've got a cold, and need to have an early night.

This is awesome...

OK, so I haven't posted any movies or vids on my blog before, but I watched this today and just had to share. The YouTube page I found it on is HERE.

How cool is that! I've listened to it five times already. I love that he really gets into the music and shows his enjoyment of it too.

I've done a few layouts too. Janferay, I redid this first page from my original attempt. I like it much better now. What do you think?
