Catching up

I can't believe how long it's taken me to catch up from July. In every area. I think I'm on top of it though, and have even managed to scrap a couple of pages 'just because', and not because I had to.

First up I better show the pics of the kids rock climbing. They all had a blast, and loved jumping off the walls and being lowered down with the automatic belay system. Extreme Edge in Mt Wellington is SUCH a great place to take the kids. I highly recommend it.

And I finally caught up on my 365 pages. Just this weeks to do now.

I talked at a Temple Fireside last night. Just for 5-6 minutes on temple blessings in a part-member family. I felt really good about it, and afterwards had SOOOOO many people come up to me and tell me they loved it too. I'm glad my voice held out for it. I totally lost my voice on Saturday (have had a mildly sore throat for 2 weeks now), but it came right enough on Sunday for me to get the message out. Whew!

Beautiful things

I discovered this beautiful clip on Cait's blog today. Reminds me why I love the piano....

Faking it

Elisa was so unwell yesterday that I took her to the Dr. She had fever, sore ears, throat, belly, legs and head. Her whole body ached, and I had to be really careful how I lifted her up to carry her, because she'd cry out that it hurt her skin. Even rubbing her gently on the back was painful. The Doctor had a look, found a viral rash on her torso (that I swear wasn't there an hour earlier), and said she most likely had Influenza. No real treatment except Pamol, fluids and rest. No worries. Took her home, put her to bed where she slept for 3 hrs straight. She'd already napped for 90 minutes before the Dr's appointment too. Poor poppet was still not happy when she woke up, but after a dose of Pamol, was happy to watch TV while I got dinner ready. As the night progressed she perked up more, and was a fair bit chirpier by bedtime. She slept well, only waking once for a drink, and was right as rain this morning. Really. 100% better. The only hangover being a runny nose. Whew! I kept her home from Kindy today just in case she lost steam as the day went on, but she's been fine. Didn't even sleep this afternoon when I put her to bed for an hour.

Yay for prayers being answered. :)

Keep up! Keep up!

Two blog posts in one day, would you believe it? I loaded some more pics into my galleries and thought I'd share them here too. Brooke and Emmy had a blast at the pool this morning. We didn't end up going to the movies as the girls were happy to do craft activities instead, but we did go out to Broncos for dinner.

Three very happy little girls

The first little girl being Elisa because she gets to spend this weekend with Nanny and Papa. Talk about excited. I had to wake her from a nap in order to pick up Brooke from school on Friday. I asked her if she needed to go toilet first, but she said no. I should've made her go anyway as she was still half asleep, but we were going to be late, so I just grabbed her and whisked out the door. Since it was raining and very windy, she waited in the car while I got Brooke. When we got back Elisa had been crying. I asked why, and she said cause she wet her pants, and does this mean she can't go to Nanny and Papa's now? Awww....I reassured her that she could still go, then had to do a quick wash and dry of the carseat before we took her to Papa.

The other two happy girls are these two:

Brooke has been waiting to have Emmy come stay for months. All week she's been anticipating the sleepover, and planning what they'll do. Last night they watched a Barbie Mariposa DVD, then talked and giggled for ages at bedtime. It would've been almost 9pm by the time they finally fell asleep. Today it's absolutely pouring down, but that won't dampen our day. After breakfast they're going swimming at Papakura Aquatic Centre, then they get to bake M&M cookies. Sometime this afternoon (if they want to) we'll go see Tinkerbell and the Great Fairy Rescue. As for dinner, who knows? I'm sure Brooke will want to go to Bronco seeing as she won a voucher from a colouring competition there last month. Really though, I don't think it matters what we do - they're just happy being together. And that makes me happy too.

Here are my latest layouts. Working on catching up with the rest of my 365 pages this weekend.

And since it's going to be in a totally different album, I reused this layout for Jean's page:

Catch up

You missed me didn't you? Go on, it's OK to admit it. I've not posted for several reasons. First of all because I'm lazy. I know....that's a given...but secondly because I have actually been really busy. OK, where to start...

Oh right, school holidays. Well they panned out pretty much as anticipated. We spent a really wonderful week in Rotorua with the In-Laws, half of which I've managed to scrap.

The second week of the school holidays was all about sleepovers. Six out of the seven days we either had nephews/nieces at our place, or our kids were at their place. The girls loved it!

Brooke was happy to go back to school on the 19th, and Elisa and I did a couple of kindy visits. We were only a few days into the new term when Hubby's Nana in Christchurch passed away. So, we flew down for the funeral, and used the opportunity to catch up with the southerners while we were there. The girls just loved being on the farm with Poppa, following him around the chook houses collecting eggs in their bright pink rain coats and gumboots.

We got back from Christchurch on Monday the 26th, then shot down to Hamilton for Caleb's blessing the following weekend, staying with Mum and Dad one night. I was thankful to be able to attend a temple session while I was there. I get such a spiritual boost going to the temple - the peaceful feeling was a stark contrast to the previous few weeks activities. For the last four days I've been busy catching up on everything. Scrapbooking CT requirements, Project 365 layouts, house cleaning, starting a new exercise regime, starting Elisa at kindy by herself, paying car insurance, doing grocery shopping, attending church meetings....stuff like that. I'm glad things are slowing down now. I'm two weeks behind on my 365 layouts, but will do those in the next day or two. I already have them visualised in my head. Meanwhile here are the other 365 pages I've done:

And the rest of my projects since the last post:

Whew! Long enough? I have a few more things to mention, but they can wait till my next post. Elisa has swimming tomorrow, and Brooke has a friend coming over to play after school (and had one today too). On Saturday the kids are off to Logan's 4th birthday with Nanny and Papa and I have a church activity to go to.
