This year we knew he would be home, so grabbed the opportunity to do something special, just the two of us. School holidays started that same weekend, so the girls happily went down to stay with my Mum and Dad for a few days while DH and I booked ourselves into a luxury 5 star hotel. 24 hours of on-on-one time, wandering the shops, holding hands, dining out and just being together was just the most wonderful thing. We are usually home bodies, so even when the girls are away on sleepovers, we rarely leave the house, happy to relax, watch TV/DVDs and for me, do some scrapping. It was so nice to get away and really focus on each other for a change. We so need to do that more often.
Looking at the layouts I've done this month, I see that I need to take more photos of Brooke. After 2 years of doing a photo every day, and then this year taking a break, I've really slacked off with the camera, only remembering during the day to take photos (usually when Elisa is home). By the time after school rolls around, things get busier and I forget to get the camera out. I will have to work on that over the next month. I'm busy uploading my layouts ready to print. I used to print with My Reflections in Australia, but the cost of printing four 100+ page albums had forced me to seek a cheaper alternative this year. I'm going to try Inkubook. New customers get a 'buy one get one free' deal, so I'm all for that.
What else has happened? We welcomed little Hannah Kaylee MacDonald to the family in March. She is such a beautiful baby, and I'm totally not upset that they live a gazillion miles away in Australia.....sniff....(wipes away a few tears)....really, I'm OK with it...:( Andre and Shannon are amazing parents by all accounts, and those of us living this side of the ditch are using all our mind-bending abilities to persuade them to start a blog with baby photos so we can see more of her. Or they can just send me a CD of photos so I can scrap them. Subtle huh. You have to read between the lines to get my message sometimes. ;D

You know, as I write this blog post I'm very aware of how un-witty a writer I am. And don't tell me un-witty isn't a word, it totally is in my world. I don't subscribe to many blogs, but Beth's blog Five kids is a lot of kids is one I can't miss. She has the most entertaining way of telling a story, that I'm usually laughing out loud with every post. Oh to be that witty. Go check her out and see what I mean.
After 2 years as Relief Society Secretary at church (a job I absolutely adored), I've been released and called into a new position as 1st Counselor in the Primary. I never thought I'd be excited to serve in Primary, but I actually am. I know Brooke and Elisa are happy to have me there too. We have our first Presidency Meeting on Tuesday, and I have a ton of questions, and a whole lot of ideas already written in my notebook. I sat in Primary on Sunday, just observing for a bit, and can see that reverence is definitely an area to improve upon. Anyone with pointers/inspiration/ideas to increase the kids reverence....I'm all ears. The Primary President has been battling along by herself for a while now, so it'll be nice to take some pressure off her and get things organised again. I'm looking forward to it.
Mmmmm....I think that's about it for this month. I kept delaying my post because I wanted to post my P12 layout at the same time. The layout itself is done, but I have to resize the borders, and the action is on my other computer. I've yet to figure a way to export the homemade action to the new computer. It's in the actions palette, but I can't see it in any folder to copy and paste. I'll probably have to make a new action for this computer today or tomorrow. Then I'll post the layout and you'll have TWO blog posts for the month. Don't die of shock. Seriously, I don't have many blog readers as it is....
OK, that's it for now. Here are the projects I've done since the last post.
